GHOST RIDER FILM SERIES

GHOST RIDER FILM SERIES

Ghost Rider is the name of several fictional supernatural antiheroes when appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics.

The first supernatural Ghost Rider is stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, who, in order to save the life of his father, agreed to give his soul to “Satan” (later revealed to be an arch-demon named Mephisto). At night and when around evil, Blaze finds his flesh consumed by hellfire, causing his head to become a flaming skull.

GHOST RIDER I

The Devil, Mephistopheles, sends his bounty hunter of the damned, the Ghost Rider, to retrieve the contract of San Venganza for control of a thousand corrupt souls. Seeing that the contract would give Mephistopheles the power to bring Hell on Earth, the Rider refuses to give him the contract.

In 1986, Mephistopheles reaches out to 17-year-old stunt motorcycle rider Johnny Blaze, offering to cure his father’s cancer in exchange for Blaze’s soul. The next morning, Blaze awakes to discover that his father’s cancer is cured, but his father is killed that same day in a motorcycle stunt in which he falls into the ring of fire he is jumping through. Blaze accuses Mephistopheles of causing his father’s death, but Mephistopheles considers their contract to be fulfilled.

GHOST RIDER II: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE

A French priest named Moreau warns the monks of a monastery about an impending attack by the devil’s forces to obtain a boy named Danny. The monastery falls under attack; Moreau tries to help the boy and his mother Nadya escape, but the distrusting mother shoots at Moreau and flees with her son. Moreau manages to distract the men chasing Danny and Nadya, but nearly dies in the process and loses them. He believes that only the Ghost Rider is capable of protecting the boy. He finds the Rider and seeks his help.

REVIEW

Very good set of comic book movies. The acting at times can be cheezy… scratch that campy.. but it works. You don’t go to see ghost rider to watch high art. You go to see action and crazy graphics. Ghost Rider is one of those movie series that every fan boy should watch. Even when they went off script in the second one it still worked… This is comic book movie making at its luckiest some would say and I would say finest. Meaning not even hollywood could screw it up.
