Ant-Man is a 2015 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name: Scott Lang and Hank Pym.

In 1989, Hank Pym resigns from S.H.I.E.L.D. after discovering that they attempted to duplicate the shrinking technology he invented that allows him to become the Ant-Man. Pym believes the technology is dangerous and vows to hide it from the world. In the present day, Pym’s estranged daughter, Hope van Dyne, and protégé, Darren Cross, have forced him out of his own company, and Cross has begun attempting to replicate the Ant-Man technology himself, announcing the Yellowjacket, an experimental size-altering suit that Cross believes will revolutionize warfare and espionage.

Ant-man is a superhero movie. It starts out with great promise. It basically talked through most of the major events in Hank Pyms life and glosses over the relationship of ant-man to the avengers. Albeit the mention of the avengers and the polite nod to them was graceful one, I still wanted more. I like the fact that the story was very minimal. It focused on universe building. There were some great moments in the movie. I rather enjoyed the fighting. I wish the movie was longer. For an introduction to ant-man and the next batch of avengers squad members it was great. I look forward to the next movie…
